Video Games
CJ asked:

I have 6 nephew between the ages of 5-14. I thought for christmas I’d get them video games, since they all seem to be into it. But I don’t know anything about video games and don’t want to ruin it by asking them. Anyone have any suggestions? or should I go with gift cards for one of those electronic stores and let them pick it out?
They live in 4 separate households. (I’m one of 5 children)

Spongebob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spiderman, Superman, etc..

And you can never go wrong with a giftcard, just ensure they have a store within a moderate distance so that it isn’t a chore for the parents to take the kids there.

You should probably go with the gift cards, that’s always a good option! I know Guitar Hero is pretty popular but probably for older boys.

Wii. It’s the hot new thing. Get them a Wii, extra Wiimotes (you’ll see what those are at the store), and games four of them can play at once (Excite Truck is the only one I can think of, besides Wii Sports, which coms with the Wii). Since there’s six of them, I’d even suggest buying two Wiis with two extra Wiimotes each. And maybe one for you, too. It’s easy to pick up and play. Very easy. So easy, if you know how to swing a tennis racket, you know how to use the Wiimote.

Wait…do they all live in the same house? Buy them heart monitors, so you’ll know when one kills the other.

check the ratings on the games. they are a decent indicator as to whether they are appropriate for your kids.

Tales of Symphonia is a really good gamecube game that almost EVERYONE loves. It’s also on PS2. It doesn’t have any adult things at all. And it is a really fun game.
But if you can’t think of anything, just go with gift cards. That way they can choose what they want theirselves.
And if all that fails. There’s always Tony Hawk.
